The N&MC online exams are licensure exams for all nursing students or candidates who are aspiring to practice as a nurse or midwife in Ghana. The N&MC GH regulates, and licenses nurses and midwives in the country. Writing and passing this online exam is one of the key points to the road of practicing as a nurse in Ghana.
WHAT ARE THE VARIOUS NURSING FIELDS THAT WRITES THE N&MC ONLINE EXAMS?
There are so many fields of nurses that write the N&MC online exams. In general, we have;
RGN- Registered General Nurses (Both at the training colleges & universities.)
RM- Registered Midwifery nurses (Both at the training colleges & universities.)
PHN- Public health nurses (Both at the training colleges & universities.)
RMN- Registered Mental nurses.
RCMN- Registered community mental nurses.
NAC- Nursing Assistant Clinicals.
NAP- Nursing Assistant Preventive.
Post Basic Programs (midwifery & general nursing.)
Other special fields such as (Pediatrics, Geriatrics, ENT etc.)
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO CHECK MY N&MC EXAMS RESULTS?
Before you can check your results, make sure you participated in the exams, and note the following:
- N&MC index number
- Valid phone number. The phone number can be your personal number or someone’s number. They are going to send you a code to proceed to check your results. So, make sure you use an active phone number.
- Your date of birth. The date of birth must be exactly the one you used during your NMC exams indexing.
- The date of examination. This is the year you wrote the N&MC online exams.
- You also need to know the link to the results’ portal.
Normally, when the results are released, it is first made accessible to your school’s academic head. They have the opportunity to block and unblock candidate’s results, if the candidate is owing the school, before the results will be made accessible online for candidate.
Candidate can check their results from their school’s academics even before they’re made accessible online.
THE STEPS TO CHECK THE RESULTS
The steps are going to be in two major parts.
- Firstly, you need to generate your results code.
- Secondly, proceed to check results. This is because you will use the code you generated to access your result.
To generate the result code, tap on GENERATE CODE
- Select generate code button.
- Enter your NMC index number.
- Input your phone number and your date of birth, and
- Click on the generate code button.
You will receive a code via SMS on the phone number you provided. Note that code, write it somewhere or copy it to your clipboard. Once you receive the code, then you can proceed to the next part (second part).
Now the second part is to proceed to check the actual results. Â
To do this, tap on CHECK RESULTS
- Select check results button.
- Enter your N&MC index number and the result code you received via SMS (the code you generated).
- Select the exams date.
- After that, tap on check results to display your results.
WHAT TO DO AFTER YOUR RESULTS ARE DISPLAYED?
After your results are displayed to you, you will know whether you passed or not.
STEPS FOR THOSE WHO PASSED
If you are successful in all of your nmc papers, you’ll have to proceed and register for the N&MC results (NMC Results Registration).
You will see a button labelled “Proceed to register”. Before you proceed to register, make sure you download your results and print a copy of it for future use.
If you accessed your results with your phone, you can still download it, and then you go to café, transfer the downloaded results for printout. Or you can go to café, re-access your results and then print it out. The original copy of your results will be sent to your school for you to go for it later or after your registration.
REQUIREMENTS AND STEPS TO PROCEED TO REGISTER
- Registration fee receipt: Successful candidates are required to pay the registration fee of GH₵ 696.00 (for Basic Programmes) or GH₵ 598.00 (for NAP/NAC Programmes) at any GCB Bank/ADB branch across the country. Just go to the bank and tell them you’re paying for nmc results registration.
- Your personal detail: Such as your name, location, school, Gh card, 2passport pictures with background etc.
You will see a button labelled “Proceed to Register” tap on it and provide all the necessary requirements to fill the registration form. Submit the registration form after filling.
Go to the nearest NMC regional office, with the receipt, national ID (Ghana card) and 2passport size picture with white background for basic programs or with red background for those who did auxiliary programs.
Before you go to the regional office, your principal or HOD etc, may endorses your passport picture.
STEPS FOR THOSE WHO FAILD ANY OF THEIR PAPERS
If you failed, you cannot proceed to register. Therefore, you have to wait for resit registration, write and pass that paper before you can also proceed to register. The time for the resit will be communicated to you.
